All LBRA course instruction and Shooting Range operations are conducted by Maryland State DNR Police Certified Instructors, NRA Certified and Maryland State DNR Police Certified Range Officers, Maryland Police Training Commission Certified Instructors and NRA Certified Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Muzzleloader Instructors.  BSA Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge instruction is provided by BSA registered adult scouters who are Certified BSA Merit Badge Counselors.

CLASSROOM & RANGE FACILITIES

DIRECTIONS to Izaak Walton League Chapter House:
Located off of Woodsdale Road in Abingdon. Woodsdale Rd. intersects and begins at the traffic light on MD Rte 924 and the Constant Friendship Shopping Center (Weis Market, Gabrielle Brothers etc.) within sight of MD Rte 24 and the I-95 interchange.
As you turn at the traffic light onto Woodsdale Rd. you proceed past the new WAWA construction site and look for the green and yellow IWLA sign on the right side of the road. Turn onto the dirt / gravel lane and proceed approximately .2 miles until you reach the chapter house parking lot.

DIRECTIONS to SEITZLAND RIFLE CLUB Range, New Freedom, PA.
- Take I-83 North to Exit 36, at stop sign make a RIGHT.
- Go to the next stop sign and take a RIGHT (York Road - North).
- Go North on York Road 2.8 miles and take a LEFT onto Campbell Road (there will be a sign to New Freedom).
- Go 1.8 miles on Campbell Road (upon entering New Freedom it will turn into Main Street) take a RIGHT onto Bowser Road.
- Go another 1.8 miles on Bowser Road and the range will be on your RIGHT (there is a small sign on a tree).
- Follow the paved driveway to the Seitzland Range.

DIRECTIONS to: APG Shotgun Trap & Skeet Club, clubhouse and range located on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Area, Edgewood, MD

Directions from the South (i.e. Baltimore/Washington/Virginia)

Take I-95 North to Exit 77A (Edgewood.) The exit is approximately 25 miles north of Baltimore. Follow exit to the right.  Turn right at the light onto MD Rte 24 South toward Edgewood.

 

Directions from the North (i.e. New York/New Jersey Area)

Take I-95 South into Maryland. After crossing the Maryland State line continue south on I-95 approximately 32 miles to Exit 77A (Edgewood). Make a right at the stop sign onto MD Rte 24 South toward Edgewood.

 

First stop light is Van Bibber Road- for those persons requiring hotels.  All hotels are either LEFT or RIGHT at this light, and are visible from the road.

 

Proceed on MD Rte 24 toward Edgewood, crossing U.S. Rte 7 (light) and Edgewood Road (light).  After crossing Edgewood Road (light), proceed on MD Rte 24 toward Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Area, Edgewood, MD.  The road narrows to a single lane, and you will cross Hanson Road (light) and arrive at the entrance gate approximately .25 miles later.  

 

ALL PERSONNEL (VISITORS, EMPLOYEES AND MILITARY) ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE POST.

 

Proceed SLOWLY to the gate check-point and provide photo ID and automobile registration.  Keep this letter handy in case you are required to furnish “proof of affiliation.”  You will be directed to the APG Shotgun Trap & Skeet Club.  Please follow the posted speed limit of 25MPH as it is strictly enforced.   Also note the posted instructions for passing/ yielding to troop formations.

 

The APG Shotgun Trap & Skeet Club is located at the end of MD Rte 24, approximately 1.5 miles past the APG gate check-point.

DO NOT MAKE ANY TURNS!  As you emerge from a wooded road area you will see Bush River, and the range and parking will be visible on the left side of the road.
