The NRA Institute for Legislative Action's website (www.nraila.org) has been totally redesigned to better serve you, the defenders of our Second Amendment rights. The new site is easier to navigate, and the format and style changes reflect in large measure the results of a survey conducted of site visitors - we are providing what you told us you wanted.

There is now an "Action Center" on every page, providing one-click access to contacting your federal, state and local lawmakers, contacting the media, signing up to receive important e-mail alerts and finding out how to become more active in defending the Second Amendment in your community.

A distinctive section of the home page presents recently posted and updated fact sheets. The home page "Issues" section positions you one click away from fact sheets, articles, and alerts on the hot topics of the day and gives you easy access to our most frequently requested items. In the special Hunting & Conservation area you'll find legislative updates, news stories and links to state fish and game departments. There's much, much more so please visit www.nraila.org often. While visiting the site, please sign up to receive NRA-ILA Email Alerts which provide valuable political and legislative information on a weekly basis as well as special alerts.

Maryland State Rifle and Pistol Association, Inc.
The
Official NRA State Organization for Maryland.
The Maryland State Rifle and Pistol Association (MSRPA) is the flagship Gun Rights organization in and for the State of
Maryland. The Association offers both individual and club memberships. As such, it provides an "umbrella" organization of Gun Clubs in Maryland. It is run by an elected Board of Directors and elected Officers. Support of the shooting disciplines and legislative activities is primarily through a systems of committees. All participants are volunteers.

The Maryland Gun Ban Referendum of 1988 was conducted by the ad hoc Maryland Committee Against the Gun Ban. This grass-roots committee created a system of county chairmen and coordinators for the entire state. When the business of the Maryland Committee was concluded, this county system moved in its entirety into the MSRPA. The referendum battle energized
Maryland's Gun Rights Activists for years to come. No longer willing to rely on low-key lobbying in Annapolis, these activists quickly learned the ropes and made the Association a solid player in the State's annual Legislative Session. We routinely fill the Joint Hearing room to an overflow and have conducted large and successful rallies in Lawyer's Mall. Our activists are very visible and active in political campaigns throughout the State and have succeeded in increasing our strength in the General Assembly.

In the face of a near tidal wave of citizen disarmament occurring in
Maryland, the MSRPA has played a critical part in drawing the line and standing firm for Gun Rights. Without this resistance, things would have been much worse and been so much sooner. Now the objective is to continue to develop new activists with numerous individual skills who will help us bring Maryland into line with the rest of the states which have made strong gains in protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Please browse through these WEB pages and then consider joining the Maryland State Rifle and Pistol Association. Your volunteer assistance will make the difference.
